Hey guys..., you can find information about Colorado beers in http://www.cervejariacolorado.com.br

On first page click SIM - that means you are older than 18

the problem is that there is no translation for English

Hi Charlie,
Whole Foods is indeed a great place to pick up various brews. Here in San Francisco it's the only place to grab Russian River Brewing Co's Pliney the Elder. I don't know if they sell it there at the Whole Foods in Arizona, but if you haven't tried PtE and are a fan of Double IPA style beers then it's a must. The first time I tried it was a couple months ago when I was at Russian River in Santa Rosa, worth a visit if you haven't ever been.

Cheers,
-Lane

belgian guy,

The show has foundered a bit, but will return soon. The next show should be posted with days, with a couple more to follow. I'm working on getting it back "on track," though "sporadic mode" is still going to reign for a while. Just stay subscribed, and good things will flow down the feed.

Hey Charlie, I used to live in AZ and then after graduating from North High School went to PA for college where I've taken some brewing classes and got to tour breweries and enjoy many a fine PA made beer (Victory being one of my favorites) and since being back in AZ I have not been able to find Victory anywhere around me :_( I've noticed you mentioned it a few times on your website and, being an AZ man yourself, I was wondering if you could recommend a good place to find this (along with a lot of the other 'fancier' beers you mention on your site).

Thanks,
Chris Shaw

Is Eric back? That would so rock. I can hardly wait. Sure hope it doesn't turn out to be Michael R WhatsHisFace, but then again he's been on a lot lately so that wouldn't have much surprise factor.

Thanks for the sympathy, Carrie. The good news/bad news is that my life is a full and bustling one these days. The further good news is that it won't be two months until Episode 53.

Charlie, I agree with all above. This was a great episode. Just listened to it today, as I am a bit behind on all my podcasts. Jef was a hoot! I love people who are passionate about what they do. While listening I fired up google, located a local store that sometimes carries Van Steenberge beers and have already emailed an inquiry to them about getting some Piraat and Gulden Draak! Thanks to you, I am sure I will be tasting another great beer soon!

Groucho: Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for spreading the word! Jef was fascinating and chock full of hardcore brewing wisdom...it was basically "turn on the mic and let 'er rip." I agree with you on the InBev comment...there was a nice subtle venom in the way he said "bankers" that was classic.

Oh, and it's still not too late to nominate The Beer Report for a Parsec Award (you don't have to be sci-fi...SoB was up for one last year in the Best "Infotainment" category). You guys could go to Dragon*Con and hang with the gamers...it'd be classic!

Charlie... I have to hand it to you... This was a brilliant addition to your episodes. I loved the line... "InBev are bankers... Not brewers".

I especially loved his story about how his grandmother told the grandfather that she was not leaving the brewery... EVER!

I will highly recommend this show to others! (Except for that hideously long plug for some some Sci-Fi fiction show that wants to win an award at a gaming convention??? WTF??? :) )

Even with the skinnied down format, you're still giving us things we can't get from the other beer related podcasts. The others I've listened to are either endless tastings of beers that blur together or that lap back on themselves, or they have low signal to noise ratios. Don't feel compelled to fill a preset amount of space. When you've got something worth sharing, we're still listening (the magic of RSS).

I had the opportunity to visit Van Steenberge Brouwerij in the company of Paul Van Steenberge and my friend Chantal De Smedt (Gilder Ale ) four or five years ago and I can testify , these guy's have beer in their blood. They are an inspiration to all other small independent brewers.

Reading this is making me thirsty. Hoegaarden is my favorite Belgian beer. I haven't tried the Alaskan Summer Ale yet, although I'm checking my supermarket later today.

Koelsch has an umlaut, so like Leo says, something like "oe" is the hoch deutsch pronunciation. But those Koelner people have their own way of speaking.

Being from cali, I am biased. Nonetheless, I have grown to love the brews from dogfish head. The wife and I motored up the coast to delaware to have dinner at the dogfish head pub and grill and immediately fell in love with the place. I agree that with this quality of beer, everyone wins. I would be remiss if I didn't throw my support behind stone brewery. Ruination IPA for everyone!

Now I need to redo the tasting in the other order. Except Red Rocket is hard to come by where I live, so it may need to wait until I'm further west. And next time I'm going to have some Edam on hand, for reference purposes.

Thanks for having us on.

Until tonight I was 3 episodes of Speaking of Beer tonight. I caught up while driving around Scottsdale and Phoenix. I'm in AZ on business (and stopping by WI3D tomorrow) so on the way to Magnum's to stock up on items for the magic fridge, I was able to get my hands on some Ten Fidy. THIS IS AWESOME.

Thanks for the review Charley, I wouldn't have picked it up otherwise.
